From the Capital Beltway (I-495) Outer Loop
(From Baltimore and points east)
Strathmore is located just 1/2 mile north of the Capital Beltway. Take I-95 South to I-495 West (Capital Beltway). Take Exit 34 and head north on Wisconsin Ave. Route 355 (Rockville Pike). Make a right onto Tuckerman Lane just after the Metro overpass. See Unloading Buses below for further instructions.

Unloading Buses: Follow Tuckerman around to the lower entrance of the Music Center (on the right). Pull up to the Music Center circle, where several buses will unload at the same time. A Music Center staff member will instruct students to exit the bus and send them to the appropriate door. PLEASE do not unload your bus until instructed to do so. You will be given two numbered signs, one to put in the window of your bus, and one to keep with you to help identify your bus upon dismissal.

Parking Buses: After unloading, bus drivers should continue to the next intersection, make a left onto Rockville Pike (355), and another left back onto Tuckerman and park along the right-hand curb of Tuckerman where the meters have been bagged. Bus operators are requested to stay with or near their buses for the duration of the concert. Of course, arrangements will be made for bathroom use as necessary.

Concert Seating: Please note that student groups will be seated in the order in which they arrive. Therefore, all students on the same bus will be seated together, but not necessarily with the other buses from their school.

Concert Dismissal: All students should remain seated at the conclusion of the concert. From the stage, a staff member will dismiss groups by bus number (the number you were given upon arrival). Ushers will be stationed along the exit path to guide your group.

From the Capital Beltway (I-495) Inner Loop
(From Northern VA and points west)
Exit the Capital Beltway onto Old Georgetown Road (Route 187, Exit 36). Turn left off the exit ramp onto Old Georgetown Road. Proceed for about 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Tuckerman Lane. Follow Tuckerman Lane for about 2 miles and cross over Rockville Pike (355) and continue on Tuckerman Lane toward the Music Center. See Parking below for further instructions.

Parking: Music Center concert parking is located in the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro garage off of Tuckerman Lane. The entrance to the Metro parking garage is on the right. Take the stairs or elevators to the 4th level of the garage, and walk across the sky bridge into the Music Center's main entrance. Because this is a daytime event and commuters riding the Metro use the garage daily, there is a $4 fee for parking. The fee must be paid using a Metro SmarTrip card, available at the Metro stations. The initial cost of a SmarTrip card is $10, which covers the cost of the card itself and puts a balance of $5 on the card.

Payment for parking is made at the exit of the garage. If you do not already possess a SmarTrip card, or if you need to add to your balance, you may do so at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station. Take the elevator to the first floor of the garage and walk out of the garage and across the Kiss-n-Ride lane to the Metro Station. The SmarTrip card machine accepts major credit cards and $1, $5, and $10 bills.

Concert Seating for Homeschool Groups and Families: Upon arrival at the main entrance, you should see a check-in table. Please proceed to the table, from where you will be directed to a seating location.

Concert Dismissal: Please remain seated at the conclusion of the concert. From the stage, a staff member will issue dismissal information.

ARRIVAL BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

By Metro
Strathmore is located immediately adjacent to the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro station, on the Red Line. Follow the walkway out of the metro station to the left entrance of the Metro Garage. Take the stairs or elevators to the 4th level, and walk across the sky bridge into the Music Center's main entrance.
